# Workspace

The central panel changes depending on the module you open.

The **Workspace** is the large central panel where you *do* things.\
Its exact layout changes depending on which module you launch, but there are two recurring patterns:

#### A. *Enrichment* Workspace

*(Quiz Builder, Code Example, Concept Explainer, Sim Builder, Diagram Builder, Deck Builder)*

| Zone | What you see | Why it matters |
| ---------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Selectors** *(top row)* | • **Course** dropdown • **Lesson** dropdown | Tells MindEngage *where* to store the asset you are about to generate. |
| **Instruction banner** | A light-blue strip that starts with “Highlight text to…” | Reminds you of the trigger gesture for that module (e.g. highlight → open Quiz modal). |
| **Lesson Preview** | Rendered HTML of the current lesson. Text selection inside this frame opens the module’s modal dialog. | Lets you generate, place, and test new assets *in context* without leaving the page. |
| **Action buttons** *(floating Viz Card)* | After you press **Create**, a Viz Card appears: **Place Visualization • Edit Prompt • Discard** | Gives you one-click placement or refinement before the asset is committed. |

#### B. *Course Editor* Workspace

This layout is more detailed because you are editing **existing** HTML, quizzes, visuals, or deep-dives.

1. **Selectors** — same Course / Lesson pair at the very top.
2. **Danger Zone** — red accordion with **Delete Course** and **Delete Lesson**.
3. **Editing Toolbar** — *Edit Table of Contents • Edit Lesson • Edit Quiz • Edit Visualization • Edit Deep Dive*
4. **Raw HTML Editor** *(left panel)* — full source view with syntax highlighting.
5. **Rendered Preview** *(right panel)* — live iframe with blocked navigation so accidental clicks stay in the editor.
6. **Save Changes / Reset to Last Saved State** — enabled only when you diverge from the last saved version.

> 🗑️ **Danger Zone tips**
>
> * Delete Course → removes *all* lessons + assets for that course.
> * Delete Lesson → removes the lesson and its linked quizzes/visuals.
> * Both actions ask for confirmation & are irreversible.

***

#### What’s *not* in this layout?

* **Reference Uploads** uses a dedicated, two-column uploader + document list.
* **Exam Builder** runs a stepper-based wizard (Draft → Review).
* **Publish** is a tabbed interface for Classroom, Quiz-to-Forms, and Git-Sync.

Those pages are documented separately because their workflows diverge from the standard lesson-centric canvas.
