# Simulation Builder

Create 2D/3D or physics-based interactive simulations.

The **Visual Simulation Generator** is a no-code wizard that turns any STEM concept into an interactive, self-contained HTML simulation in seconds. Simply enter your topic, choose a descriptive visual name, pick the simulation type (3-D, physics-enabled, 2-D, or machine-learning), and click **Create**—the builder auto-generates fully inline code with the right JavaScript libraries and live parameter controls. No local build steps, asset bundling, or external hosting are required; just paste the output into your lesson or web page and learners can explore the concept immediately.

### Workflow

1. Select a **Course** and **Lesson**.
2. Highlight text using mouse from the lesson → **Simulation** modal appears.
3. You may edit the selected content or describe the simulation topic.
4. **Complete the form**:

   * **Simulation Name** – a name for the simulation asset.
   * **Insight Type** – choose *simulation type*. See below for description of available types

Press **Create** – a floating **Viz Card** appears. See the [Visual Editing operation](/mindengage-docs/common-dialog-boxes/visual-editing.md) for editing the simulation by re-prompting and placing in the document.

| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Simulation with Physics Engine** | A 3-D scene whose objects obey rigid-body dynamics (gravity, collisions, joints, etc.). Users get GUI sliders/inputs to tweak physical parameters in real time. | Projectile motion, pendulums, block-on-incline, Newton-cradle, soft-body demos, robotics prototypes. |
| **3D Simulation** | A purely geometric or kinematic 3-D visualisation—no real-time physics. GUI controls let learners change sizes, angles, velocities or other domain-specific parameters. | Molecular structures, solar-system orreries, vector fields, camera-path fly-throughs, anatomy models. |
| **2D Simulation** | An interactive, canvas-based 2-D diagram or animation with live parameter controls. | Graph algorithms, statistical distributions, wave interference, signal processing, planar kinematics. |
| **Machine Learning 2D Simulation** | A hands-on playground that trains a simple ML model in the browser, plots data & learning curves, and exposes hyper-parameters via GUI sliders. | Classification/regression demos, decision-boundary explorers, perceptron/NN training visualisers. |
