**1. Quick Primer on Each Standard**

* **NGSS** – US K-12 science framework that fuses scientific practices, core disciplinary ideas, and cross-cutting concepts. Lessons revolve around an anchoring phenomenon and student inquiry.
* **ISTE** – Global technology-integration standards. Emphasize empowered learners, computational thinking, creative communication, and ethical tech use.
* **CCSS-Math** – US math standards focusing on coherence across grades and eight Mathematical Practices (reasoning, modeling, precision, etc.).
* **ABET** – Engineering accreditation body. Programs must show evidence that graduates meet seven specific student outcomes covering design, ethics, teamwork, experimentation, lifelong learning, etc.
* **21st-Century Skills (P21/Battelle for Kids)** – Framework grouping Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication plus tech-fluency and life-skills required for modern workplaces.

| -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Select a built-in template** | In *Course Builder ▸ Content Style = Custom* press **Template ▼** and pick “NGSS Template”, “ABET Template”, etc. | Prompt Builder pre-loads the fragments for that framework. |
| **Toggle fragments** | Check / un-check the box left of each fragment. | Included pieces are compiled into the lesson prompt; unchecked ones are ignored. |
| **Edit fragment text** | Click directly in the description field; changes save live. | Tailor wording to your audience or insert placeholders (“%%FORMULA%%”). |
| **Re-order fragments** | Drag the ︙ handle on the right. | The prompt generator respects your order. |
| **Save customized set** | Click **💾 Save As**, give it a name (e.g., “NGSS – Grade 8 Physics”), then **OK**. | A user-defined template appears in the dropdown and is stored on the server. |
| **Update an existing custom template** | Choose it, edit, click **💾 Save**. | Overwrites the stored template. |
| **Clone a different standard** | Select any built-in, press **Save As**, then modify pieces. | Lets you build hybrids (e.g., NGSS + 21CS). |
| **Delete a custom template** | Select it ▸ **🗑 Delete**. Built-ins cannot be deleted. | Removes from server; built-ins remain available. |
